Universal Rules and Policies

Here I’ll list an ultimate list of rules that any one wishing to, or is currently participating in EnmP activities. Follow them. Love them. An administrator alert you when you need to reread them.

I. Rules Concerning Names and Titles:
  • Your username must be a pen name.
  • No vulgarity may be used in names.
  • A pen name should contain a first name and a surname at minimum.
  • Middle names/initials are not required.
  • Administrator status users have it within their power to have a custom user title. This comes with the status.
  • Member status users will be awarded a custom title (the actual title, length, type may differ) are awarded for various different challenges in the Challenges/Exercises Forum.
  • Initiate status users’ titles will be the date that they joined. This cannot be changed until associate/member status is obtained.
  • Associate status users may not have a title. If they gained one while a Member it will be recorded and restored upon gaining back their status as Member.
  • Even if you know a user’s real name, please address them by their pen name unless they are okay with you addressing them otherwise.
  • Never assume someone is okay with you addressing them otherwise because they may not be. Always contact the person them self and make sure.
II. Grammar, Spelling, and Capitalization Policy:
  • First names, nicknames, middle names, surnames, etc. should be capitalized in usernames and in 100% of the EnmP Board.
  • Any titles should capitalized. It makes them look better.
  • Proper grammar and correct spelling are required, and using the honor system will be enforced. It benefits all our users to do so.
  • To ask if you spelled a word right, simply put a (sp?) after the word and continue on. I know spell check is there, but if the word doesn’t fit because of a misclick, someone else may know the correct spelling of the word you wanted.
  • Help the Administrators by correcting improper grammar and spelling in other users’ writing. Do not be offended if your work is corrected. We all make mistakes. Improving our writing skills and vocabulary is part of the purpose for EnmP.
  • Correct Administrators too. We don’t bite (too hard). emo-ToungeDoodle.gif
  • Everyone makes mistakes. If you accidentally make a grammar flaw, EnmP will kindly help you refine your words. You should edit the post with the proper correction, or an admin will if they have nothing better to do.
III. Maturity and Conduct Policies:
  • Keep a mature attitude towards everything. We’re not little kids on here. If you want to act like a kid, this is not the Board for you.
  • Please be mature about any and all conversations on EnmP.
  • Cursing is allowed. Do not curse at other members, though. Keep it softcore. If you have an issue concerning cussing/cursing please contact an Administrator.
  • Pornographic pictures are not allowed. Keep photos and art pieces PG-13 please. You may share a link to things exceeding that rating on sites such as DeviantART. If doing so, put “[WARNING]” in the title of your thread.
  • Pornographic writing is not allowed. Sex scenes that are key to plots are fine, but do not make them extensive. Put a “[WARNING]” in the title of the thread and the post within the thread alerting readers of it’s content.
  • Any graphic sex scenes in original writing should be posted on FictionPress and any fanfictions containing graphic sex scenes should be posted on Fanfiction.net or Adult Fanfiction.net. Once again, put a “[WARNING]” in the title of the thread containing the link to the graphic content.
  • We can understand emotions can make people impulsive in negative ways that may make people say or write some things that they wouldn’t have said otherwise. Please refrain from doing or saying things you will regret on EnmP. I recommend taking a breather should such emotions arise. Go punch a pillow, cry to a loved one, complain at a friend, or something of the like depending on the emotion before you do something regrettable. Should you say something hurtful to another member and someone report you for it the Administrator(s) reported to will discuss the issue and find a solution. Don’t say something you’d regret.
  • Any and all emotional/person-to-person conflicts that arise may or may not have consequences and any and all consequences will be determined by the Administrator that it was reported to. We trust the Administrators to be fair and just, and so should you. If you have an issue with an action by an administrator, contact another administrator about it.
  • Please leave any conversations dealing with highly controversial subjects, such as politics, liberal/conservative matters, Mac Vs PC, et cetera, off of EnmP. We don't need that here.
  • No two-word responses to posts. Think before posting.

  • Do not purposefully bash others’ work. Critique instead! Constructive criticism is very important to any writer, but flames aren’t. Flames don’t help anyone.
IV. User Status, Account Status, and User Group Policies:
  • A user may only obtain Administrator (user posted image) status with expressed consent from a current Administrator after that administrator has discussed the subject with all other Administrators. They are denoted with a purple flag and pentagon shape.
  • Any member that joined before March 7th, 2008 is considered a Veteran Member.
  • A user starts as Undecided (user posted image). They are denoted by the color gray, and don't have a symbol.
  • After a user joins and is determined to be "active" they will be placed into one of the following categories: Author, Conversationalist, or Critic.
  • Authors (user posted image) participate in the writing forum primarily by submitting writing. They are denoted by the color blue and a rectangular shape.
  • Conversationalists (user posted image) participate in the Off-topic Forum primarily. They are denoted by the color green and a carrot shape.
  • Critics (user posted image) submit critique on writing, or participate in the writing forum primarily. They are denoted by the color orange and a "L" sort of shape.
  • Inactive users are labeled as Missing (user posted image) if they do not post for a long stretch of time. Missing persons are represented in red, and have an exclamation mark as a logo.
  • No account on EnmP is ever deleted unless that user is banned or the user creates a new account.
  • Any issues on user status and ranks may be posted about in the Official Discussion Forum or may be taken up with an Administrator via Private Messaging or any other form of outside communication.
